Getting A Small Dog

Small Dogs Supplies

Invest also in dog-grooming products like a comb or a brush to keep the hair smooth and shiny, and ribbons to tie it up, if your dog has long hair. A dog spray or a shampoo that will keep out the fleas and the ticks out of your dog’s hair is also a must. Also include some odor removers so that your dog won’t relieve himself again in the same location especially when he’s inside the house.

Small Dogs Rescue

Do you have a soft spot for dogs? Do you want to rescue abused dogs and nurse them back to good health? If you answered yes to these two questions, then you are needed at the animal rescue center.

Rescue centers take in dogs that are not in homes or animal shelters, nurse them back to good health, update their shots, worm them, spay or neuter them, and put them up for homing. In other words, a rescue center provides sanctuary, rehabilitate, and re-home abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs.

There is a lot of work at rescue centers, and volunteers are always welcome. If you have the spare time to do volunteer work, you may get in touch with the nearest center in your area. If you have a busy schedule and can’t squeeze in some volunteer time, you can still help in other ways. Donations, however small, can go a long way for a homeless puppy that has run out of options.

Small Dogs for Adoption

Unfortunately, not all dogs have loving homes. Some are still in animal shelters, looking for foster homes that may welcome them permanently.

If you have a loving heart and are willing to provide permanent shelter to homeless canines, you are most welcome to get in touch with the animal shelter nearest you. You may also search online for pet adoption sites.

It may also help to take note of the following prior to adopting: Are you going to adopt a puppy or an adult? Which would you prefer a male or a female dog? Do you prefer a pure-breed or are you okay with a mixed-breed? Do you have the patience and the resources to take care of your adopted dog? Are you willing to overlook occasional accidents? Are you really committed to this adoption or is this just a spur-of-the-moment decision that may be fleeting? Are you a real dog lover?

Examine yourself and try to answer these questions honestly. Better yet, try to sleep over this matter for a few days. If after a fortnight, this is still what you want, then you probably really are interested and willing to commit to the adoption. Better yet, seek counseling to be sure of your decision.

Small Dogs for Sale

So, you want to buy a dog. Here are some reminders: Choose a dog that can adapt well to your home. If it matters to you, note the pedigree and mind the age. Check the dog’s medical history, especially his vaccinations. Be sure its fleas and ticks free. Check if the dog has been registered, wormed, spayed, and neutered. And check the selling price, of course.

If you’re the one who’s selling, then you need to prepare the following: pedigree, registration, and vaccination papers; history for deworming, spaying, and neutering; behavioral history; photos; reason for selling, and the selling price. Also prospective buyers may ask for more information, so be prepared to answer.
